Activity during World War Two :

He received his basic training at Camp Mackall NC and his advanced training at Camp Forest Tenn. He was sent to England July 1944 and assigned to Company F, 193rd Glider Infantry Regiment (GIR), 17th Airborne Division. Then on 1 March 1945, the remnants of the 193rd Glider Infantry Regiment and the 550th Airborne Infantry Battalion became the 194th GIR's 3rd Battalion. I believe that the 194th was then attached to the 95th Infantry Division from 5–13 April. Homer S. Long Jr., born 1925 was killed in action on April 6, 1945.
