Activity during World War Two : My mother's brother, Leo Paul Frogh, was a 23 year-old 2nd LT on 15 November, 1944 in the assault on Fort DeFeves. The Captain was wounded and the assault stalled. Lt. Frogh had been shot through the right lung by machine gun fire and led A Company, firing as they advanced. After gaining the objective Lt. Frogh was evacuated and spent several months in hospital and survived. A Company paid a very heavy price that day. For this he was awarded the Silver Star as well as the Purple Heart. Campaigns : Rhineland.
