Activity during World War Two :

Bronze Star citation: Henry H. Olwig, Private First Class, Inf, Company F, 377th Infantry, for heroic achievement in connection with military operations against the enemy, from 18 October 1944 to 16 April 1945, in France and Germany. During this arduous period of company Private First Class OLWIG repeatedly distinguished himself by his exceptionally courageous actions under fire. In Hannibois Wood, when his battalion sustained many casualties, he went forward to assist heroically in the evacuation of the wounded. At Saarlautern, he drove his jeep under heavy artillery fire on seven successive nights to carry essential food, water and ammunition to the front lines. Private First Class OLWIG's fearless and skillful performance of duty is in keeping with high traditions of military service and reflects groat credit on him. Entered military service from Wisconsin.
