Entered ETO on 2 Nov '44 and left 20 June '45. Awarded Good Conduct Ribbon, American Campaign Ribbon, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Ribbon, WWII Victory Ribbon. Received CIB 12 Dec 44. Also received two battle stars. Later awarded the Bronze Star (2009) for his service in 1944. Received two certified "you were there" letters. One, a commendation letter from Lt. Gen. G.S. Patton for involvement in the Battle for Metz and the other, a commendation letter from Lt. Gen W.H. Simpson for the successful reduction of the "Ruhr Pocket" along with the capture of the centers of Hamm, Soest, and Dortmund.

Campagnes : Rhineland, Central Europe.
